The Challenge
A transport company had the right idea- they were compacting their filing system to save on space. They purchased a mobile system from a competing manufacturer. When the installation was being competed, the contractor hit a post-tension cable with a hammer-drill while anchoring the tracks. This could have seriously compromised the building and exposed the company to a very unnerving liability.
The Solution
Drilling into the floors was no longer an option. They still needed a compact system for their files. Stelterr’s local dealer came up with a creative solution- they installed a floating deck with adjustable levelling feet for the system to rest on, rather than traditional grouted and anchored rails. This eliminated the need to drill, meaning the building’s integrity remained fully intact. The structural engineer was pleased, and the project was approved.
