    The Challenge

A major Ottawa university library was rarely accessed, but it was still important to have accessibility when needed. The sheer volume of books in their collection required two thousand, three hundred square feet of space to house all the static shelving; however space was at a premium. They could do a costly and protracted expansion of space to accommodate the collection. Or they could store off-site, costing a monthly fee and creating inefficient access times. Neither option was viable to the University.

    The Solution

Because the material was accessed on a less frequent basis, Stelterr provided a Mizer Mobile with only two access points. This greatly optimized space, as they cut down the number of aisles from twenty-four to just two. The University was able to fit the system into just one thousand, one hundred and eighty nine square feet- just over 50% space savings. This eliminated any requirement for expansion or off-site storage.
